Construction Technology is a basic course that teaches the fundamentals of safety, tools, math, and basic carpentry, electrical, masonry, and plumbing skills.

How much you learn in this class is directly related to the effort you put in, and the attitude you have towards this class.  There are a lot of neat activities we can do, but a lot of it rides on you.  I hope that after taking this class, you will understand basic knowledge of tools and materials use in the construction industry.

Attendance Policy and Make-Up Work:  Attendance is a must in the classroom just as it would be in the workplace.  All absences will be dealt with according to the student handbook.

  1. Excused Absences:  All students with an excused absence will be given 2 days for each missed class period in order to make up class work and assignments starting the day of return.  Once the time period has passed, unless other arrangements have been discussed between the student and the teacher, all work will be docked one letter grade for each day it is late.  After 5 days late any work turned in will receive a zero.

  1. Unexcused absence:  General work missed may be completed, but will only be given half credit.  Refer to the student handbook for more information.

  1. It is your responsibility to get this work and fill out a homework request sheet.  I will not have time at the beginning of every class to help you with missing work/notes.  If this is the case, you need to see me before or after school.
