Objectives

This assessment measures if you can...

  1. identify food-related vocabulary
  2. identify family and chore vocabulary
  3. identify basic vocabulary
  4. identify numbers
  5. use the correct grammatical forms
  6. identify culture practices and products
  7. read in French.

Instructions

You will have 90 minutes and 50 questions.  All questions are randomly selected from these question pools:

  • culture
  • vocabulary, including but not limited to:
    • general food vocabulary
    • breakfast foods
    • fruits
    • vegetables
    • numbers
    • no excuse vocabulary
  • word/phrase/sentence recognition
  • grammar, including but not limited to:
    • partititive
    • verbs
    • sentence structure
  • reading comprehension

The assessment is mainly multiple choice, but there are some multiple select, matching, and multiple dropdown questions.

This assessment was designed to take into account multiple facets of what you know:

  • 14.6% culture
  • 33.3% grammar
  • 26% identifying vocabulary/phrases
  • 6.1% no excuse vocabulary
  • 3.2% a mix of categories
  • 16.6% reading comprehension

Note: If you see an error, please report it to me! I make mistakes and don't want to penalize you for something I did incorrectly!

 Materials

The only allowed materials you can use on this assessment are:

  • headphones / earbuds
  • the quiz itself
  • your brain

Use of any outside materials, notes, talking to others, including the use of websites such as WordReference, is prohibited. Per the PCHS Student Handbook, "Students who choose to use unauthorized material, or cheat, when taking an academic assessment are subject to academic and possible disciplinary consequences." 

Time

You have 90 minutes to answer the questions.

This assessment is 96 points and you will be graded by how many questions you answered correctly.
