Introduction

Part of learning another language is comparing your life, understandings, grammar, and culture to the new language. 

Objectives

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to

• discuss who is the most important or influential French person from history in easily understandable French using new vocabulary words and relevant information about the target culture with 80% accuracy in 30 minutes or less.

• discuss what groups are most valued by the French and compare that your culture in easily in standard American English with relevant information about the target culture with 80% accuracy in 1 week or less.

Leçon

You'll review your reading in the second module and then use fr.wikipedia.org to fill in any gaps you have about people discussed or not discussed in module 2. For example, the following famous French people were not mentioned:

• Jeanne d'Arc
• Louis XIV
• Louis XVI
• Marie Antoinette (while not French by birth, she married and lived in France for many years) 
• Marie Curie
• Louis Pasteur

You'll have a conversation with a partner about who you think is the most influential person from French history.

You'll also have a discussion comparing your culture to France's culture.
